Margaret Wingate

Owner & Founder | Veteran Leader in Affordable Housing

With more than 35 years of dedicated experience in affordable housing, Margaret Wingate is a recognized leader and advocate for equitable communities. Her remarkable career began in public service with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, where she contributed to the Tenant Interim Lease Program supporting tenants and stabilizing neighborhoods.

Margaret transitioned to the private sector, where she spent 11 years as a Project Development Specialist at SKA/Marin, deepening her skills in project management and affordable housing development. Her enduring commitment to public service ultimately led her to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she began as a Project Manager and rose to become Director of Field Asset Management. In this role, she guided a dedicated team to assure national programmatic compliance and was entrusted with preserving more than 200,000 units of affordable housing across the nation.

An expert in Section 202, Section 236, and Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment contracts held by multifamily housing private owners, Margaret has demonstrated her mastery in navigating complex regulatory frameworks and securing critical resources that sustain affordable housing. Her work has had a lasting impact on communities and the people who call them home.
